Last year we supported a local charity, The Denny Foundation, asking for donations at Christmas time to help less fortunate people over the Christmas period and it was a great success. Many people generously donated toys and food to this very worthy charity.
This year we are supporting a different charity, The House of Hope Recovery Centre, administered by Jeff and Gally Dakers. We provide bookkeeping services to this charity and want to help Jeff and Gally in any way we can, and I would be most grateful if you can help.

I am seeking donations of toys and non-perishable foods which we can collect from you over the next few weeks. We can collect from all locations in the Illawarra as we are sure to be in your neighbourhood at some stage and are more than happy to collect your donation. Cash donations (which are fully tax deductible) are also very welcome and you can donate online by going to http://hopecentre.com.au/donating-money.
The House of Hope Recovery Centre’s Food Barn is the largest distributor of charity food and the most accessed charity in the Illawarra. Their mission is to assist the disadvantaged members of the community to get back into mainstream society, to balance the cost of living and their finances independently, to enter or return to the workforce and to be independent from welfare. Their goal is to eliminate the barriers and the pain that poverty, hunger and skill deficiency imposes on people. The Food Barn provides groceries, produce, bread and other personal and household necessities. Through their welfare department they supply and distribute fresh home cooked style meals and welfare packages to their welfare clients and referrals from other agencies at no charge.
For more information on this wonderful charity and how they are making a difference in our local community please go to http://hopecentre.com.au/.
Any donation, large or small, is greatly appreciated and will bring joy to someone less fortunate. So before your next visit to the shops add a toy or non-perishable food to your shopping list and make a difference this Christmas!
Please contact Henny on 0413 842 403 or henny@essentialbookkeeping.com.au to arrange for collection. THANK YOU!
